Barnsley Women's FC, a leading women's football club in the region, is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our esteemed program. This position offers a unique chance to work across the Barnsley Women's Performance Setup and the Barnsley Emerging Talent Centre, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the physical development and performance of our players.

As a Strength and Conditioning Coach, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the overall fitness, strength, and athleticism of our players, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Player Assessment and Program Design: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physical abilities and areas of improvement for players within the Barnsley Women's Performance Setup and the Emerging Talent Centre. Based on these assessments, design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs to enhance performance and reduce the risk of injuries.
  • Strength and Conditioning Training: Deliver high-quality strength and conditioning training sessions tailored to the specific needs of different age groups and skill levels. Your expertise will help improve players' speed, power, endurance, agility, and overall physical conditioning.
  • Monitoring and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess and monitor players' progress throughout their training programs. Use data-driven methods to track improvements, identify areas for further development, and adjust training strategies accordingly.
  • Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation: Collaborate with the medical team to develop injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation programs. Proactively work with players to reduce the risk of injuries and provide guidance during the recovery process.
  • Education and Guidance: Provide educational resources and guidance to players, coaches, and parents on topics such as nutrition, hydration, recovery, and injury prevention. Promote a holistic approach to player development, emphasizing the importance of physical well-being and healthy lifestyle choices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification in strength and conditioning (e.g., NSCA-CSCS, UKSCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for athletes, preferably in a team sport environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of strength and conditioning principles, periodization, and injury prevention strategies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively convey complex information to players and coaching staff.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A passion for women's football and a commitment to the long-term development of players.
